Surrey Golden Triangle – Where to live in Surrey
Exclusive areas across the UK are often given the title ‘Golden Triangle’, a term coined to describe a collection of residential areas, be it a number of towns and villages or certain postcodes and neighbourhoods within a larger town or city.
Surrey is one of the most popular of the home counties to buy a house and there are a number of exclusive places to live dotted across the county. The Surrey Golden Triangle is a concentrated pocket of residential areas that are among the most desirable places to live in the UK.
Property in Elmbridge
Surrey’s Golden Triangle is within the Surrey borough of Elmbridge; Weybridge, Esher, Cobham and Walton-on-Thames are all within the area. One of the largest appeals of Elmbridge is the proximity to London whilst being surrounded by Surrey countryside. Elmbridge borders with the London borough of Richmond upon Thames and the London Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and officially forms part of the Greater London built-up area.
This leafy corner of Surrey offers easy access to both Heathrow and Gatwick airport, the ability to reach London’s West End in around 40 minutes, some of the country’s top schools, wide open green spaces, boutique shopping, fine restaurants and quaint village settings.
Elmbridge is particularly well known for its beautiful landscapes, large homes, generous gardens and is also known for its residents. Across the villages and towns within the Surrey Golden Triangle, there are several private estates, many of which are home to the rich and famous; the area has previously been labelled the Beverly Hills of Britain.
There is good reason for the appeal of the area to these residents – privacy, security and high quality homes being some of the key factors, properties here have been specifically laid out and designed to meet certain requirements.
